ONIC PH Survives Uphill Battle Against TNC to Book Upper Bracket Semis Spot

ONIC Philippines eliminated TNC Pro Team in a grueling five-game series in the MPL Philippines Season 18 Play-Ins at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The Super Family will next face last season’s runner-up, Team Falcons PH, with a place in the upper bracket final at stake.

In Game 1, ONIC PH pressured Jowm’s Obsidia in the gold lane early to delay his scaling, but TNC remained patient and waited for chances to strike back.

SuperFrince’s Pharsa stole the Lord with Feathered Airstrike during the 16-minute clash, but TNC retaliated with Jowm’s double kill.

Despite ONIC securing a crucial advantage, TNC capitalized on its five-versus-three numbers advantage, with Zehn’s Hylos leading the push using Glorious Pathway as Zaida’s Aulus secured a kill.

Jowm’s Obsidia delivered a standout performance, finishing with a 7-1-2 KDA.

ONIC PH responded in Game 2, building a 7-2 lead past the seven-minute mark. At the 11:22 mark, Zehn’s Kalea executed a Tidal Strike-Flicker combo to knock up Savero’s Claude and K1NGKONG’s Aulus.

However, ONIC came out on top in the clash as Brusko’s Marcel landed a Golden Hour ultimate to secure a double kill.

The decisive moment came at the 15:45 mark, when ONIC PH picked off three scattered TNC members and capitalized on a five-versus-two numbers advantage.

K1NGKONG’s Aulus delivered a stellar 7-1-8 KDA to tie the series at 1-1.

ONIC PH carried its momentum into Game 3, putting TNC on the back foot after securing all three Turtle objectives.

Brusko’s Atlas stole the spotlight at the 09:51 mark, landing Fatal Links to catch four TNC members in the mid lane. The counter-engage against Zehn’s Kalea Tsunami Slam paved the way for SuperFrince’s Lylia to secure a double kill.

Brusko anchored the frontlines with his Atlas, recording a 0-1-11 KDA.

TNC, however, flipped the script in Game 4, remaining deathless beyond the seven-minute mark before Zaida’s Paquito was picked off while contesting the Turtle objective. Ryota’s Freya then secured a double kill, helping TNC force a deciding fifth game.

Ryota’s Freya was named Game 4 MVP with a perfect 4-0-2 KDA.

With the series on the line, ONIC PH and TNC entered Game 5 in a winner-take-all showdown. ONIC PH successfully zoned out Zaida’s Aulus during the 20-minute Lord fight, setting up a decisive final siege. Despite Zehn’s Kalea putting up a valiant effort with Tidal Strike, ONIC PH pushed through to secure the series.

SuperFrince’s Lylia helped ONIC seal the deal with a 5-0-12 KDA.

With the hard-fought victory, ONIC PH eliminated TNC Pro Team and advanced to the upper bracket semifinals, where Team Falcons PH awaits.
