The University of Perpetual Help Junior Altas are NCAA basketball champions for the first time in school history.

Perpetual defeated La Salle Green Hills in Game 3 of the Season 100 juniors basketball finals on Tuesday, 101-67, bouncing back from their game two downfall to claim their maiden crown — the school’s first NCAA championship in either the seniors’ or juniors’ division since joining the league in 1984.

The Junior Altas dominated the eliminations with an 8-1 record to lead all teams in the standings, then made quick work of San Beda in the Final Four.

In Game 1 of the finals, they came up with clutch plays on both ends to draw first blood. In Game 2, they nearly had victory before clutch plays by LSGH thwarted their efforts.

With the victory in a dominant game three, Perpetual caps a historic season and finally breaks through after decades of waiting, spearheaded by league MVP Lebron Jhames Daep.

It was also an admirable display from the Greenies who defeated higher-seed Letran in the Final Four before pushing Perpetual to the limit.
