SRG Shocks the Esports World as It Beat Falcons AP BREN in Tense Finals of MSC 2024
Malaysia’s Selangor Red Giants (SRG) proved even underdogs can take down giants, remaining unbeaten for 110 days, and adding Falcons AP BREN to its long list of victims. The 3-month-old roster of SRG shocked the world tonight after it beat favorites Falcons AP BREN in the Grand Finals of MSC 2024, completing their Cinderella Story. SRG has three Filipinos: Coach Arcadia, Kramm, and Innocent. Its Malaysian players are Stormie, Sekysss, and Yums.
SRG made Filipino fans nervous as they were able to go toe-to-toe with team fights and objectives with FCAP, tying the game 2-2 in Game 4. Here’s a recap of what happened.
Game 1 Recap

Game 1 opened strong for Falcons AP BREN (FCAP) with KyleTzy earning a double-kill on KRAMM and Sekysss in the first minute, and another kill with Sekyss after he respawned in the second minute. The early game was hugely in favor of Falcons AP BREN, dealing 8-0 kills on Selangor Red Giants (SRG) within the first 7 minutes, care of KyleTzy, Pheww, and Super Marco.
SRG found their step by the 7th minute, killing Owgwen, KyleTzy, and FlapTzy. As the 8th-minute Lord spawned, a team fight ensued, which resulted in the near-wipeout of FCAP by SRG. The Filipino reps wiped out their Malaysian counterparts in the 12th minute after the Lord march and overcommitment inside the FCAP base by SRG.
During the 17th-minute Lord skirmish, Falcons AP BREN was nearly wiped out but Pheww made a daring segue push, ending Game 1 with a bang.

Game 2 started similarly with Game 1 with FCAP starting strong with a wipeout of SRG in the 6th minute. KyleTzy used himself as bait in the mid lane clash, allowing FlapTzy to use Penalty Zone under the enemy tower, then flickers out to allow his teammates to layer down crowd controls on SRG. The match turned in favor of SRG in the 9th minute after Sekyss made a Lord steal from FCAP. By the 11th minute, SRG already had complete control of the map despite being behind in gold by 2k. SRG made a final push with a third Lord of the game in the 15th minute.

FCAP opened Game 3 with fast plays from Super Marco and KyleTzy, clearing up enemy buffs and picking up 6 kills within the first 6 minutes. FCAP was focused on bullying Yums’ Hilda to prevent him from leveling up, as they know Hilda is a strong counter to Ling. KyleTzy secured the turtle in the 8th minute, but Sekyss and Owgwen fell in the ensuing clash, but FCAP still led with a score of 8-2 and 4k gold lead. KyleTzy led with 5-0-2 KDA.
At 10th minute, Owgwen secures a double kill on Kramm and Yums, while KyleTzy finds Sekyss and Innocent, and Super Marco kills Stormie’s Angela. FCAP tried to close out the game at the 11th minute without securing the Lord, but failed to complete their mission. They decided to take the Lord at the 13th minute, but SRG was able to defend against the Lord march thanks to Angela’s Heart Guard and sustain abilities.
In the 14th minute, FCAP had to decide between resetting the game by securing the Lord that respawns in 1 minute, or ending the game and risking getting wiped out. They opted to end the game and wiped out SRG after a nearly 2-minute clash within FCAP’s base. Falcons AP BREN took Game 3 with a score of 23-6. KyleTzy had a KDA of 18 and 82% kill participation, earning him MVP of Game 3.

Sekysss reminded FCAP what he could do with Fanny, killing three from Faclons AP BREN within two minutes, finding Pheww, Owgwen, and FlapTzy at the receiving end of her blades. FCAP trailed SRG 0-6 but managed to secure the turtle at the 6th minute.
Sekysss was all over the map, managing the minion flow and securing pickoffs for SRG, leading by 8-0 with 6 kills of his own. SRG led with 7k gold at the end of the 9th minute, with Sekysss’ Fanny securing the Lord in the 10th minute. Meanwhile, FlapTzy and Pheww found the end of Moskov’s spear, double-kill for Innocent as SRG attempted to push toward FCAP’s Inhibitor Turrets. The score remained 10-0 for SRG at the 13th minute as the Lord respawned.
Things seemed to turn in favor of Falcons AP BREN after KyleTzy managed to steal the Lord from SRG at 13:30. SRG still led 13-4 at the end of the Lord skirmish. But after Yums forced a team fight pursuing Pheww, FCAP ended up getting wiped out at the 18th minute, securing SRG’s second win for the series.
Game 5 Recap

Game 5 started with early bloodshed at 1:20, as Sekysss killed Flaptzy in the bottom lane, but KyleTzy and Owgen quickly responded, killing Sekysss in return. Both teams played it safe through 8 minutes, with Pheww and Storimie getting shut down at 8:30 in the mid lane.
Impatience cost FCAP the game, after they committed a grave mistake at the 10th minute, forcing a team fight inside enemy turret, resulting in their wipeout by SRG, allowing the Malaysian team to secure the first Lord uncontested. From that point onwards, SRG was on a roll, securing two lords, and wiping out FCAP’s base at the 16th minute, securing a matchpoint 3-2 against the Filipino favorites.

Falcons AP BREN started with a solid footing in Game 6, securing all three turtles in 6 minutes with a score of 5-0. FCAP extended their rally through 11 minutes, securing the Lord and picking up 6 more kills. By 12 minutes, Owgwen’s Faramis provided extended stamina to a final team fight in SRG’s base. FCAP wiped out the Malaysian team at 12:30, forcing a final Game 7 for the two teams with a score 14-2 at the end of Game 6.
Game 7 Recap

Both teams played safe for in the early game of Game 7, focusing on objectives rather than hero kills. SRG secured the turtle without significant team fight in 2 minutes. Owgwen became the first casualty after forcing a team fight, at the 4th minute, costing the Filipino team heavy losses at 4-1. SRG extended their killing spree at the 5th minute, attacking the bottom lane, killing FlapTzy and KyleTzy in the clash. The Filipino side pushed back on the bottom lane and took Yums and Innocent for their kills.
SRG’s Sekysss secured the Lord at 10:00, wiping out FCAP in the clash. SRG tried to end the match in the 11th minute with the Lord march, but FCAP was able to defend against the onslaught of the Malaysian underdogs. SRG led by 12-5 at the 13th minute, at which time they took the second Lord uncontested.
The 14th minute Lord march nearly ended the series but FlapTzy and Super Marco were able to fend off the attacks of Kramm and Sekysss.
A clash at the 17th minute wiped out Falcons AP BREN, allowing SRG to secure the MSC 2024 championship.
SRG closed the series 4-3, ending the Filipino supremacy in MLBB esports.
