UP Fighting Maroons advance to fourth straight UAAP Finals

The UP Fighting Maroons defeated the UST Growling Tigers, 78-69, in the UAAP Season 87 Final Four on November 30, 2024, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

This victory solidified the UP Fighting Maroons’ ticket to the Finals, with Harold Alarcon’s 16 points that led the team. Additionally, Francis Lopez also recorded 16 points, with 1 assist, and 6 rebounds, while Reyland Torres had 13 points and 7 rebounds. Quentin Millora-Brown registered 9 points, 19 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 assists.

Despite the unfortunate loss, the UST Growling Tigers put up a tough fight for the Maroons.

Kyle Paranada: 12 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds.

Gelo Crisostomo: 12 points, 7 rebounds.

Nic Cabanero: 12 points, 1 assist, 3 rebounds.

The UP Fighting Maroons will face the winner of the DLSU v. AdU series in the UAAP Season 87 finals.
