UPSET: NU Bulldogs dominate UP Maroons from start to finish

In a stunning upset, the last-placed NU Bulldogs toppled the powerhouse UP Fighting Maroons, 67-47, on Sunday at the University of Santo Tomas, handing the title contenders just their second defeat of the season. Coming into the game with a league-worst 2-8 record, NU defied the odds by establishing an early lead and holding on for the entire game, ultimately securing a much-needed win.

UP, which had dominated Ateneo in their last matchup, struggled to find rhythm as turnovers and missed opportunities plagued their performance. NU, on the other hand, showcased gritty defense and consistent scoring, maintaining control throughout and proving they could take down one of the league’s best teams.

The victory gives NU a major morale boost while putting the rest of the UAAP on notice that upsets can happen at any moment, even against the top teams in the standings.
