VP Global Management partners with Lakers’ Austin Reaves
Philippines-based sports agency VP Global Management announced that they have secured the representation rights for budding Los Angeles Lakers star Austin Reaves in the Philippines.
In a press release by the agency, VP Global expressed its commitment to “providing unparalleled opportunities for athletes like Reaves to connect with their fans in the Philippines.”
“We are honored by the trust placed in us and are excited to explore various avenues, including potential brand endorsements and events, to bring Austin Reaves closer to his Filipino supporters,” CEO Charlie Dy stated.
These endeavors will be in collaboration with AMR Agency and Aaron Reily, Reaves’ sports agent. Both Dy and Reily, who was in Manila with Austin for the FIBA World Cup last year, have a relationship dating back to 2013.
“We have chosen to collaborate with VP Global Management because of their reputation as the best in the Philippines. Our relationship has always been strong, and I have witnessed their genuine care for their clients,” Reily was quoted in the statement.
No specific plans were revealed on what Austin will do in the Philippines in the future, but said efforts are being made to have him return for another visit.
Reaves was arguably the most popular player of USA Basketball during the World Cup, in large part due to his connection with the Filipino crowd-favorite Lakers.
Reaves is averaging 16 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.3 rebounds a game this NBA season.
