BREAKING: Yawi Leaves TNC Pro Team
Tristan Cabrera, aka Yawi, has left TNC Pro Team after playing for one season.
In a Facebook post, the team announced the talented roamer’s departure:
“Today, we announce the departure of Yawi from our team.
“A true companion inside and outside of the game. Yawi has been a major part of our success as a team to soar into greater heights. His skills and determination says it all as we achieve every victory that you, Phoenix Army had seen throughout his entire journey with us.
Yawi, thank you for contributing to the team’s success in our recent journey. May you continue to rise high in your next journey. See you around, IDOLO!”
A Storied Career From Echo to Overseas Success
Although Yawi was already very popular during his days at Nexplay with Dogie and as part of the “Big Three” with Renejay and H2WO, he rose to even greater prominence as the aggressive roamer and team captain of Echo Philippines, leading them to victory at both the M4 World Championship and MPL PH Season 11 (early 2022). Echo officially released him in late January 2024, with the organization praising his contributions and wishing him luck on future endeavors.
Shortly thereafter, Yawi signed with Aura Esports in Indonesia’s MPL Season 13, marking his first overseas stint. He went on to win back-to-back MPL Indonesia titles with Team Liquid ID (formerly Aura), becoming the first player to clinch championships in both MPL PH and MPL Indonesia. In late November 2024, TNC Pro Team announced his return to the Philippines, signing Y awi ahead of MPL PH Season 15.
A Sudden Departure from TNC & Legacy
Despite early momentum and occasional deep playoff runs in Season 15, Y awi and TNC struggled to find consistent footing. As of today, TNC has formally announced his departure, though details remain scarce.
Rumors of a Big 3 Reunion
With H2WO also recently leaving Smart Omega and Renejay having parted from Aurora, the stage is set for speculation: could the “Big Three” reforge their legendary partnership? Analysts and fans are abuzz with chatter. Yawi’s nostalgic comments about Dogie reconnecting the trio’s old spark lend credibility to the possibility. Whether under a new banner or reuniting in a familiar organization, one thing’s clear—it would electrify the MPL if the Big Three do come back together.
As of this writing, no confirmation has been made about the future of Renejay, Yawi, or H2Wo on whether they will transfer teams, remain in the MPL, or retire from esports entirely.
