Everything You Need to Know About BAI LUCI, RSG’s New Exp Laner from Cebu

Hours after RSG announced the abrupt departure of its longtime Exp Laner Nathanael “Nathzz” Estrologo, it introduced a new member of its roster, BAI LUCI, who is one of Cebu’s most talented MLB players. With the new addition to the Raiders’ roster, people are wondering, who is BAI LUCI?

Zeke Himaya, aka BAI LUCI, is a former amatuer player from Cebu. Under his team, USC Vamos, he participated in the MDL Philippines Regional Qualifiers, and the MSL Collegiate Cup 2024 (MCC), in which they placed first runner-up.

The 23-year-old native of Cebu City went to the University of San Carlos in 2020, taking up Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Zeke is currently in his senior year in college and has temporarily paused his studies to fly to Manila and focus on his professional career in esports. 

“Sayang po kasi ‘pag ‘di ko iga-grab yung opportunity. It’s a life-changing opportunity,” BAI LUCI told ALL-STAR.

How did RSG find BAI LUCI? 

According to BAI LUCI, he was scouted by RSG’s team manager, Lexie Yambao, after their first-place podium finish at the MCC. 

“I was scouted sa MCC po,” said BAI LUCI. 

Yambao confirmed the details. 

“I recruited Zeke from the MCC when we went to Solenad,” Yambao told ALL-STAR.

Solenad is a commercial area in Tagaytay where the MCC was held. 

“Zeke was on our list of potential players we intend to recruit because we wanted new blood in our team. He’s an investment for the future. That became more urgent when we learned of the possibility of Nathzz leaving, so I immediately scouted talents. He was willing to fly to Manila immediately and become part of RSG’s MPL roster. I am looking forward to the growth of his career,” said Yambao. 

But as a graduating student, BAI LUCI had to convince his parents that it is okay for him to pursue this path at the moment. According to Yambao, the BAI LUCI’s parents were apprehensive and had reservations about allowing their son to go to Manila to pursue an esports career. 

“I was able to talk to his parents through video call because I was in Singapore at that time. Naturally, they asked about the kind of setup their son would have in Manila, since he’s from Cebu. They were worried because Zeke would be far away from them, but we were able to assure them that he’s in good hands,” said Yambao. 

BAI LUCI: Win rates and highest rank

As of this writing, BAI LUCI’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang account has a win rate of 75 percent played in over 2,400 matches in ranked mode. 

BAI LUCI has a very deep hero pool, with at least 15 heroes ranking above 70 percent win rate with at least 50 matches each. His highest rank is Mythical Immortal with 655 stars. His rank as of this writing is Mythical Immortal with 288 stars.
