Converge will utilize a veteran presence at its import position for the upcoming PBA Governors’ Cup as they’ve added NBA G-Leaguer Scotty Hopson as their import, team manager Jacob Lao confirmed to ALL-STAR Magazine.

Hopson, 34, is a 6-foot-6 wing. He’s played for a handful of teams in the NBA G-League and for pro clubs in the world.

The Kentucky native was a 5-star recruit out of high school and was ranked fifth in the USA in the 2008 class. He was named an All-American and would later on be part of First-team All-SEC three years later.

Hopson has suited up for the G-League affiliates of Cleveland, Miami, Oklahoma City, and most recently, Boston. He played in the Euroleague with Anadolu in 2013-2014 and won a championship with Melbourne in the NBL in 2021.

He is now tasked to power a Converge squad that won a total of just three games in the 2023-2024 PBA season and will have to wait a few months before the arrival of top overall pick Justine Baltazar.
