Filipino-American guard Flever Dignadice has officially found a new home in the NCAA. After parting ways with Adamson University, the 22-year-old is set to join the José Rizal University (JRU) Heavy Bombers.

“I left Adamson seeking for another opportunity and a fresh start,” Dignadice, who is represented by Phenom Sports Management, told me in an exclusive interview. “I have nothing but love for the people over there. I chose JRU because I believe in Coach Nani and what he’s trying to start over there at JRU.”

The former St. Genevieve High School standout committed to Adamson in 2021 but struggled to find consistent footing due to academic commitments, injuries, and illness. He played just 11 games in UAAP Season 87, averaging under a point per game in limited minutes.

Now, with a renewed mindset and a belief in JRU’s rebuilding direction under Coach Epondulan, Dignadice is looking to reset his collegiate career.

He also revealed that other NCAA schools were in the mix. “I was also considering Arellano, EAC, and Benilde,” he shared.

Under NCAA eligibility rules, Dignadice will sit out a year before being eligible to play in Season 102. He will have one playing year left, assuming he meets the league’s under-24 age requirement.

Dignadice, the nephew of PBA legend Yves Dignadice, is aiming to make the most of this fresh start: “It’s about finding the right fit and being somewhere I can grow on and off the court.”

The JRU Heavy Bombers, who are looking to build momentum after back-to-back rebuilding seasons, may have just added a critical piece to their future.
