Former UP Maroons star CJ Cansino signs with Meralco Bolts

Former UP Fighting Maroons standout CJ Cansino has signed a two-year contract with the Meralco Bolts in the PBA, his agent Charlie Dy of VP Global Management confirmed to ALL-STAR Magazine on Monday, August 5.
Cansino played with the UST Growling Tigers and UP Fighting Maroons in the UAAP, winning a title with the latter. He then spent time with the Iloilo United Royals in the MPBL before joining the draft, where he was taken 11th overall by the defending champion Bolts.
“CJ would like to thank the Iloilo United Royals team owner JJ Javelosa and Coach Mac Cuan for all the support and opportunity in the MPBL. He would also like to thank Coach Goldwin Monteverde, Gov Jonvic Remulla, Ma’am Robina Gokongwei, and the UP management and community for their guidance and all out support through his journey to get to the PBA. Maraming Salamat!” they released in a statement.
The Bolts have yet to sign their other rookie, Kurt Reyson, who is still finishing his stint in the MPBL.
