Carlos Yulo has done it again.

The 24-year-old sensation from Manila, Philippines won a gold medal in the men’s artistic gymnastics vault finals of the 2024 Paris Olympics on Sunday, August 4.

A little over 24 hours after winning gold in the floor exercise final, Yulo performed spectacularly once again and compiled a score of 15.116 (15.433 and 14.800).

Artur Davtyan of Armenia and Harry Hepworth of Great Britain came in silver and bronze, respectively.

Yulo has become the first ever Filipino Olympian to win two gold medals for his home country. With his two victories in Paris and the guaranteed medal finishes of boxers Aira Villegas and Nesthy Petecio, the Philippines has already tied its showing from the Tokyo Olympics for its best-ever performance in the Summer Olympics. With more medal opportunities to come in upcoming competitions, there is a great chance to break that record.

With his dedication and abilities, Yulo has established himself as one of the greatest Filipino athletes to ever exist already. Still being so young, he has the chance to win more medals in the future and establish a golden standard for future Filipino athletes.
