Fantasy Tips 3: Here Come The Rookies!
The NBA Rookies are showing out and are proving that they belong in this league. Yaxel Lendeborg of the Golden State Warriors is an early favorite for the ROY honor.
The Fantasy Tips series gathers key NBA fixtures within the week and projects stat-leaders, plays scenarios, and suggests optimal fantasy picks.
Match 1: The Golden State Warriors vs the Miami Heat (Friday)
Steph Curry is averaging 30 points per game like it’s 2016. Yaxel Lendeborg has picked a fight with Luka Doncic, and more impressively, has been the boost the Warriors needed–and they have won their last 5 games. The Heat are 2 and 5, and it seems that the Giannis experiment is not working out so far. The Dubs probably got this one.
Suggested Laki Play lineup:
Captain: Steph Curry
Vice Captain: Yaxel Lendeborg
Key picks: Bam Adebayo, Giannis Antetokounmpo. Davion Mitchell, Georges Niang, Draymond Green
Match 2: The Memphis Grizzlies vs the Indiana Pacers (Thursday)
Ty Jerome has been insane–he just dropped 40 today. Cam Boozer is not playing like a rookie. The Grizzlies are 6 and 1 atop the western conference, and this match against the Pacers (lost their last 5 games) should be a walk in the park if the Grizzlies stay hot.
Suggested Laki Play lineup:
Captain: Ty Jerome
Vice Captain: Tyrese Haliburton
Key picks: Cam Boozer, Ivica Zubac, Zach Edey, Cedric Coward. Aaron Nesmith, Pascal Siakam
Match 3: The New York Knicks vs the Chicago Bulls (Thursday)
Caleb Wilson has been producing excellent numbers so far, and he seems to be primed to be the future of the Chicago franchise. Norman Powell has scored 20 points per game on excellent efficiency, but they have lost 5 straight games though, and it appears that they may lose another one as they seem overmatched against the defending champs.
Suggested Laki Play lineup:
Captain: Jalen Brunson
Vice Captain: Karl-Anthony Towns
Key picks: Caleb Wilson, Norman Powell, Matas Buzelis, OG Anunoby
Match 4: The Atlanta Hawks vs the Washington Wizards
AJ Dybantsa forms an intimidating frontcourt with Anthony Davis. Trae Young is a good scorer and playmaker, and the lowly Wizards seem to be not lowly anymore. The young Hawks should give them a good challenge, and this match-up should be competitive.
Suggested Laki Play lineup:
Captain: Trae Young
Vice Captain: Nickeil Alexander-Walker
Key picks: Jalen Johnson. Anthony Davis, AJ Dybantsa, Kyshawn George
