Rhenz Abando Unveils New Logo

Rhenz Abando releases a newly constructed logo before Strong Group Athletics’ redemption campaign at the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship tournament. Consisting of the 26-year-old’s initials engulfed in stylized wings, Abando’s insignia subtly converges Filipino and flying-inspired elements.

Designed by Filipino graphic designer and East Asia Super League creative manager, Plongkitz (Kiefer Ravena, Ray Parks Jr., Simon Enciso), the 14-second teaser features Abando requesting clearance to takeoff as an air traffic controller (Tyler Schiff) grants his flight request. His white-and-black logo appears on-screen, as the former Korean Basketball League champion soars from just short of the free-throw line.

Plongkitz emphasized the importance of athletes’ branding, as he spoke on the construction of Abando’s logo with the hopes of supplementing the youthful wing’s career.

“The logo creatively merges the initials “RA” with stylized wings, forming an abstract representation of the Philippine Eagle,” Plongkitz tells ALL-STAR Magazine

“Drawing inspiration from aviation logos, the design reflects Rhenz’s moniker, “Air Abando,” which celebrates his incredible leaping ability and high-flying dunks,” he adds.
