Alas Women Cruise Past Qatar in Asian Games Classification

Alas Pilipinas Women secured their first victory in the 2026 Asian Games with a dominant 25-8, 25-2, 25-9 sweep of Qatar in the classification stage on Sunday.

Alas overwhelmed Qatar from the opening set, but the second frame proved to be the biggest mismatch as the Philippines raced to a 19-0 lead.

The Philippines also kept Qatar below double digits in all three sets during the one-hour match.

The win came after Alas had already been knocked out of medal contention following group-stage defeats to defending champion China and Kazakhstan.
