Andrada Returns for Final Season with San Beda in Season 101
San Beda Red Lions veteran Yukien Andrada has confirmed his decision to return for one final season in NCAA Season 101, determined to bring the championship trophy back to Mendiola after a disappointing end to Season 100.
“I wanted to win another championship with San Beda, and I didn’t like how we ended the season,” Andrada said in an exclusive interview with ALL-STAR, referring to the Red Lions’ blowout loss to the College of Saint Benilde (CSB) in the Final Four. The Blazers bested San Beda three times last season, including in the semifinals, which ended the Red Lions’ title defense bid.
For Andrada, the sting of that defeat fuels his motivation to bounce back stronger. “Very motivated, especially that we were eliminated in our first game of the Final Four. Very determined to get back and be able to get to the finals again,” he shared.
Aiming for Redemption
The 2025 campaign will mark Andrada’s final season donning the red and white. “Yes, it will be my last season,” he confirmed. With one more shot at glory, the 6’5” forward is eager to lead the Red Lions back to the summit of collegiate basketball.

San Beda is poised to contend for the title next season, bolstered by key recruits Agjanti Miller, Jimmy Reyes, and Xavier Gentles, alongside a solid core of holdovers. “Yes, especially with new guys coming in and some key holdovers that will still play for next season,” Andrada affirmed.
A Thoughtful Decision to Return
Andrada’s decision to play one more year wasn’t an easy one. “There was [a point I thought of not returning], but I talked to my parents, coaches, and manager (VP Global Management’s Charlie Dy) for advice, and it gave me a clear answer on what I should do next in my career,” he explained.
The Red Lions’ leader identified mental toughness as the key area that needs improvement for the team to succeed in Season 101.
“Our mental toughness and being able to start and finish the game strong,” Andrada emphasized, reflecting on what went wrong last season.
As one of the most seasoned players on the roster, Andrada’s leadership and drive will be pivotal for San Beda’s pursuit of their journey back to the NCAA throne. For the Red Lions faithful, Andrada’s return signifies not just another year of contention, but a chance to right the wrongs of the past and finish his collegiate career on a high note.
