After the DLSU Green Archers’ silver finish in the UAAP Season 87 Men’s Basketball, one-and-done Archer Lian Ramiro bid farewell to the team.

Despite only spending one season with the team, Ramiro felt that he had found a family within the team.

“All I can really say is that I’m thankful. Everyone welcomed me with open arms. I felt that this is a family,” he shared with ALL-STAR.

Ramiro emphasized how grateful he was towards the coaching staff who helped shape him into who he is today.

“Thank you to the coaches. I feel like I’ve grown as a man and a player,” said Lian. “My teammates, as soon as I came in, they made it easy for me to gel with them. There’s a system there, there’s a culture. I got in this year, but we fell short, but all I can say is I’m thankful for everything.”

Ramiro shared that he has built a brotherhood with the team over the course of a few months. He labeled the DLSU Green Archers as the most fun team he’s ever been a part of.

“The brotherhood that I have with [the team] is.. the way I could explain it is one of one. This is the most [fun] and close team I’ve ever been on,” he said. “I love these guys. I’ve only been here for 5 months, but I feel like I’ve known them for many years.”

Entering the UAAP as a Green Archer and leaving as one, Lian Ramiro shared that he wants to be remembered as someone who did everything he could for the team.

“As a Green Archer, I want to leave [knowing] that I did everything I could to help the team win.”

He added:

“Even if it meant sacrificing some things, [such as] stats, time, I did all I could to help the team win.”

Ramiro also mentioned his plans to go pro but wanted to take his time, relax, and think his next steps through.

“I want to go home, see my people, see my family. Take a few days [of] mental rest just to think of some things. Get back into it, start training to go pro,” he said. “I know there’s a lot of things, a lot of options I can go to, but I think the next step is to just relax for a little bit then get ready for the next step left.”
