Panda to Players: “Bawal Kayo Mag Suko Kasi Hindi Pa Ako Suko”

In what has been RSG PH’s most challenging season in MPL history, the team faces mounting pressure as their chances of securing a playoff slot grow slimmer after their defeat against Smart Omega on October 4. Despite the setbacks, RSG PH’s Coach Brian “Panda” Lim remains unwavering in his approach.

“I just tell them, ‘Bawal kayo mag suko because hindi pa ako suko’ (You are not allowed to give up because I haven’t given up),” Coach Panda told ALL-STAR. He emphasizes the importance of mental resilience, saying, “Wala kang rights to suko kasi hindi pa kami suko” (You have no right to give up because we haven’t).

“If they feel like they want to throw in the towel, that’s something I cannot force them out of,” added Coach Panda.

The coaching staff, according to Panda, works tirelessly to prepare strategies and feedback, ensuring that the players are equipped to perform at their best. But ultimately, the weight of their performance rests on the players. “They just need to play well, that’s all they need to do,” he added.

As RSG prepares for a crucial match against Aurora PH, Panda remains hopeful for a playoff spot. However, he remains grounded, knowing that if the results fall short, the team will need to regroup. “Whatever happens after this, we just stand back up and try to reset.”

For Panda, it’s not about giving up when things get tough, but about preparing for the next opportunity—no matter what the current season brings.

RSG faces Aurora on October 5, a team they have yet to beat this season. As of this writing, RSG is at the bottom of the league with TNC, which is mathematically eliminated in the running for the playoffs. For RSG to secure a playoffs slot, it needs to win its series against Aurora, and hope that Blacklist International does not acquire more points in its last match on Sunday, which is also against Aurora.
