It wasn’t the prettiest way to win a basketball game but DLSU got the job done. They have Kevin Quiambao in large part to thank for that.

The reigning UAAP MVP dropped a career-high 29 points on 10/17 shooting to go with 9 rebounds and 3 assists as La Salle outlasted the UST Growling Tigers in overtime, 94-87, Wednesday, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Up by as much as 20 points, La Salle allowed UST to rally in the final period. The Tigers had the chance to win the game but Forth Padrigao split his charities in the final seconds in the final period.

DLSU regained its groove in the extra period and closed out the contest to improve their record to 8-1 in UAAP Season 87.

Mike Phillips also had an outstanding game with 16 points and 13 boards.
