The UE Red Warriors and Ateneo Blue Eagles are set to compete in a collegiate tournament held in Taiwan from August 3-7 along with eight other universities.

The two UAAP men’s basketball programs are part of the Fujen Catholic University Cup’s second season, with University of the East coming in as defending champions after going undefeated in the tournament’s first edition in 2023.

The Red Warriors and Blue Eagles are two of the five international invites along with MBC Basketball Club, Light of Hope University Pelita Harapan, and Rangsit University. The five institutions representing the home country are Fu Jen Catholic University, National Taiwan Sport University, National Taiwan University of Arts, Hsing Wu University, and Chung Yuang Christian University.

Since UE and Ateneo are slotted on opposing groups, the two Philippines-based squads will not face each other in the elimination round that will take place on the first four days of the tournament. They do have the chance to battle on the final day, August 7, depending on where they place following the eliminations.
