UAAP Rookie Profile: Jared Bahay of the Ateneo Blue Eagles

Ateneo’s star rookie, Jared Bahay, has already made a name for himself in basketball. Before the season started, Jared shared some facts about him through an exclusive interview with ALL-STAR Magazine. He also shared some insights on who might win ROTY and a short but sweet message for his girlfriend. 

Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Jared: I’m Jared Bahay, 19 years old, from Cebu City, and I play point guard for the Ateneo De Manila Blue Eagles.

Q: Can you also share your height and foot size?

Jared: I’m 5-foot-9, and I’m size 11.

Q: What about your favorite kicks?

Jared: For now, it’s the Adidas Forum X Swarovski.

Q: If you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be?

Jared: Siguro, kind. Kasi I’m friendly, and I help people. 

Q: Outside of basketball, what are your other hobbies?

Jared:  I like watching movies, I like series, and resting, sleeping.

Q: What’s your favorite movie?

Jared: Notting Hill.

Q: What about your favorite series?

Jared: My favorite series is, for now, Stranger Things.

Q: Who’s your favorite character in Stranger Things?

Jared: Si Elle. 

Q: Any fun facts about yourself or hidden talent that you want to share with your fans?

Jared: I love dancing, gano’n.

Q: Let’s talk a little bit about love. What is your ideal first date?

Jared: Spontaneous dates. Magkasama lang kayo and hindi siya planned.

Q: Do you currently have a girlfriend?

Jared: Yes, yes.

Q: What’s your message for her?

Jared: I love you.

Q: A little more on the sentimental side, who is your inspiration in life?

Jared: Syempre, my family. Ginagawa ko ito for them, and ‘yung girlfriend ko.

Q: What’s your jersey number?

Jared: Number 9.

Q: Can you tell us the story behind that number?

Jared: I’m wearing jersey number 9 because I was born on April 9, 2005.

Q: Jumping back to basketball, who do you think is your GOAT?

Jared: LeBron James.

Q: Which UAAP Team are you most excited to go against with?

Jared: La Salle, UP.. siguro, everyone naman, every team.

Q: Apart from yourself, who do you think might win Rookie of the Year?

Jared: Rookie of the Year for this season, siguro si Veejay Pre. I know he’s a hardworker and he’s capable. Sobrang galing niya.

Q: If you’re a pizza topping, what would you be and why?

Jared: I’m a pineapple, kasi I’m sweet.
