In a heartwarming collaboration, ANTA Philippines and Make-A-Wish Foundation Philippines hosted a special basketball clinic for children battling life-threatening illnesses—offering not just drills and skills, but joy, hope, and inspiration.

Held at the Ronac Art Center in Ortigas, San Juan, the event welcomed three young participants—Zeus, Cody, and JP—each facing critical health challenges. The day kicked off with a gesture from ANTA: custom gear and a fresh pair of KAI 1 sneakers for each child. From there, they were treated to a surprise shopping spree at Secret Fresh, courtesy of sneaker icon DJ Bigboy Cheng.

The highlight came on the court, where professional basketball players including Poy Erram, Kib Montalbo, Peter Alfaro, Keith Datu, and Justin Chua led drills in passing, shooting, defense, and team play. Veteran coaches Yuri Escueta, Jeff Napa, and Sandy Arespacochaga made sure the program stayed playful and fun, tailored to each child’s pace.

“This clinic was different and fun,” said Coach Sandy. “It means more because we’re working with kids who aren’t living normal lives like they should be. That makes it special.”

For Erram, the clinic was also a chance to give back: “It’s very special because I got to share my journey and maybe inspire these kids. That means a lot.”

ANTA PH’s Head of Marketing, Miko Abello—once a Make-A-Wish volunteer himself—helped lead the initiative. “We’re happy to do something meaningful today,” he said. “What Make-A-Wish is doing is amazing for these kids.”

The event closed with heartfelt messages from the athletes and coaches, encouraging the children to keep nurturing their love for the game.

Make-A-Wish Philippines Executive Director Aleah Ortiz expressed her gratitude: “This experience inspired and uplifted our wish kids. The partnership with ANTA gave them joy, motivation, and a reminder that even in adversity, there’s hope for a brighter future.”

With the success of this event, ANTA PH is exploring a long-term partnership with Make-A-Wish, aiming to bring even more life-changing experiences to children through the power of sports.
