Rising tennis star Alex Eala is set to make her main draw Grand Slam debut at the 2025 Roland Garros this Sunday, May 25. The 19-year-old Filipina, long considered one of the brightest young talents in the sport, will finally step onto one of tennis’ biggest stages after years of grinding through wildcards and qualifiers.
Eala’s appearance in the Roland Garros main draw marks a new chapter in her fast-rising career. Fresh off a breakout season, she’s now ranked No. 69 in the world – the highest WTA ranking ever achieved by a Filipina. In 2025 alone, she has made history by defeating three Top 10 players in a single tournament and reaching the semi-finals of a WTA 1000 event in Miami.
Her debut also comes on the same iconic clay courts where her mentor, Rafael Nadal, built his legacy. Now it’s Eala’s turn to chase hers.
