Chantelle Shares the Story Behind This Very Tense Moment at M6
“I clung to the jersey as tightly as I held onto the hope that they could still pull off a win.”
Two of the most intense photos captured during the match between Aurora and Team Liquid Indonesia was a picture of Filipino esports talent Chantelle, sitting beside Renmar.
Their expression is a blend of emotions: wide eyes, flickering between hope and anxiety, with a glimmer of desperate anticipation.

ALL-STAR reached out to Chantelle after the match to get an idea of what was going through her head in that very tense moment.
“Noong time na iyan, tinatakpan ko yung mga mata ko kasi ayaw kong manood. Kasi noong time na iyan, from a caster’s POV, medyo may idea na ako kung ano yung pwedeng mangyari sa outcome ng game,” Chantelle told ALL-STAR.
“Pero sinisilip ko pa rin kasi may hope pa rin ako na kaya pa.”
(“During that time, I was covering my eyes because I did not want to watch. At that moment, from a caster’s POV, I already had an idea of what could happen in the outcome of the game. But I was still taking a peek because I still had hope.”)
Naturally, Chantelle was supporting Aurora during the match. She flew to Malaysia to cover the M6 World Championship and serve as the official correspondent of MPL Philippines, along with Dlar.
“Kaya kinapitan ko rin yung jersey, kagaya ng pagkapit ko sa pag-asang kaya pa nila.”
(“I clung to the jersey as tightly as I held onto the fragile hope that they could still pull off a win.”)

At this point, Chantelle lets out a high-pitched groan of frustration and sadness.
For the first time since the M2 World Championship, only one Filipino team has made it to the M-Series playoffs. Fnatic ONIC Philippines will be the lone defender of the country’s win streak in the M-Series, a title the country has not relinquished since 2020.
