‘Miracles Can Happen,’ Says Wolf as TNC Teeters on the Brink of Elimination
As TNC failed to secure a single win in the MPL Philippines Season 14 on the second day of Week 6, the Phoenixes’ chances of securing a playoffs ticket became even more distant as Fnatic Onic Philippines sent them to a 0-10 standing, one loss away from ending their playoffs ambitions.
Since the third-place podium finish it enjoyed in Season 9, TNC has suffered a lingering lethargy, consistently finishing bottom place in MPL Philippines since Season 10. It is something that Wolf has struggled to dispel.
But he is praying very hard for a miracle.
“Miracles can happen,” Wolf told ALL-STAR.
“There’s a first time for everything. If there will be a first time for a team to get out of this situation, (I hoipe it will be TNC),” he added.
As the team prepares for their next crucial matchup, the players are not leeting the looming threat of elimination pressure them.
We’ve seen teams rise from impossible odds before, and TNC has the talent to do it—it’s just a matter of execution and belief at this point. TNC needs to go back to the basics—improve their communication, adjust their strategy, and most importantly, maintain their composure.
“We know what we need to do when it comes to the game, our chemistry is there, but if you drop the ball one time, one bad decision, one bad call, that will snowball. That will be magnified and ruin the team’s chemistry,” said Wolf.
Though the odds seem insurmountable, the MPL community knows that esports is an arena of surprises. As TNC teeters on the brink, only one match will tell if Wolf’s prayer for a miracle will be answered, or if TNC will fade into another disappointing season.
