San Sebastian added talent to its recruitment pool in the NCAA men’s basketball scene with the commitment of 6-foot-2 point guard Thomas Reid, he confirmed to ALL-STAR Magazine.

Reid will sit out for a season then play the first of his two years of eligibility in Season 101 next year.

The Filipino-Canadian prospect initially committed to UST last year, moved to Letran for a better opportunity early in 2024, but then found his final stop at San Sebastian. He officially enrolled last week.

“It felt more like home, just a better opportunity for myself,” Reid said about shifting from being a Knight to a Stag. ” I still have much love for Coach Allen Richardo, the staff, and the team, and I wish them the best.”

Although he will come in as a rookie next season, Reid will have veteran experience that he can offer his new squad, which recently also recruited former UST high-flyer Ashon Andrews. You can read about that here.

“Coming in as an older guy I want to improve by being more vocal and building team chemistry especially on the defensive side,” Reid said.
