Axle Javier Starts Anew with the UE Red Warriors

Axle Javier is turning a new page by joining the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors after his rookie year with the University of the Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) Altas.

Last season, 6’0 Axle played only three out of eighteen games, which is not uncommon for first-year players on deep NCAA teams.

He was previously a standout in the Arellano Braves program, showing promise and hard work from an early age in the NCAA Juniors.

“Sobrang thankful po [ako] sa former coaches ko dahil sobrang dami ko po natutunan sakanila na need ko pa talaga para mag-improve,” Axle expressed regarding his transfer.

This afternoon, 21-year old Axle confirmed with ALL-STAR that he will be part of UE’s preseason recruits. This move from Axle not only entails a new team, but a switch from two NCAA programs to that of the UAAP.

He joins other young talents like Kyle Perez, Gene Carillo, and Julian Zapata in strengthening the Red Warriors roster.

Unlike Zapata, who is eligible for UAAP Season 88, Axle and the other recruits need to serve their residency as per UAAP rules. They will be eligible come Season 89.

“Perfect time po ito para maka-adapt sa system ni Coach Chris, and maka-adjust kung paano ako makakatulong,” Axle expresses.

As Axle has been in NCAA programs the past years, for him, this one-year residency may be considered as a “transition year” as well.

As reported before, UE lost key players Rainer Maga and Devin Fykes earlier this year, creating opportunities for young and eager players like Axle.

With Coach Chris Gavina giving these talents a fresh start, one thing is clear: the Red Warriors are focused on building a team ready for future success.
